Green smoothies are such a great way to pack in a load of delicious nutrients.  Healthy, delicious, convenient and simple.  The kids love whizzing up their smoothies.  Kale and spinach are usually what I love to use for my base.  I always like to remove the stalks from the kale.  I often splash in some freshly squeezed lemon to improve the alkalizing effect on my body or grate in some turmeric and ginger for an anti-inflammatory boost. Have fun with making your own green smoothies to make them delicious for your liking.  Go ahead and give the green smoothies a try.  They are so convenient for days when you are traveling or have a lot planned.  You can simply pour all the nutritional foods into your blender and go.

Green Smoothie Recipe

2 tablespoon of Whey Protein
2 large double handfuls of baby spinach
Filtered water
1 apple, chopped into chunks
1 teaspoon chia seeds
Freshly squeezed lemon juice from half a lemon.
Mix all the ingredients together in a blender.

If you are not used to green smoothies, they can seem slightly hardcore.  Preserve, and gradually over time increase the amount of green leafy vegetables you use.  You might like to experiment with adding cucumber, parsley, spirulina powder, wheatgrass, orange, organic coconut oil, coconut water, celery and other types of green leafy vegetables.

Once you begin to feel their benefits, I’m sure they will be an essential part of your day.
